On this Saturday morning, the Huntington Beach Pier reaches out over the depths of the Pacific Ocean off the coast of California. In the distance, Catalina Island is barely visible as storm clouds roll in.

The Wicked Tree by GreggB Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
My take on the most photographed tree in White Mountains, Inyo County, CA. I'm not quite sure but I think this particular tree is close to 5000 years old (4700 to be exact).
Star spray by CostasGountanas Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
A challenging morning shot. Good weather conditions but the sea was spraying on my lens like crazy - had to clean up almost after every shot to get a couple of decent exposures. Please view in the lightbox.

Touch of green by RetoSavoca Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
Jökulsarlon during a rather cold but wonderful quiet night. Very little wind allowed for a nice reflection - all was calm that night - except a few seals dropping in the water... Quiet unusual for August we got to see the aurora which added a nice green to the picture. A big thank you to Raymond Hoffmann for taking us there!

Resplendent Robson by callumsnape Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
One of the most beautiful sunsets in front of the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies, Mount Robson. A short but tiring hike / swim in the alluvial flats brings you to this beautiful sandbar in the middle of Berg Lake.
Morning Bliss - New Zealand by michaeltreloar Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
Tongariro National Park, North Island, New Zealand A Toi Toi plant stands on a frosty shore to greet the sunrise. Earlier in the morning fog had engulfed the lake, but as the sun rose so did the fog, revealing a stunning day.

Sunset at Glacier National Park by LarryMarshall Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
Glacier National Park is an incredibly beautiful natural wonder and so much wildlife! I saw bears, big horn sheep, mountain goats, wild horses, foxes, a moose with a new born calf, herds of elk, and marmots! There was a very heavy overcast most days during my visit, including the evening that I took this shot. Fortunately, after hiking a mile or so to this spot, the clouds opened up just enough to let some of the setting sun's light through which gave us a nice display of color. To add to the experience, a mother mountain goat and her kid were grazing in the flower filled pasture just a few feet in front of me!
Fjallsarlon Glacier Lagoon by timnevell Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
Midday shooting at Fjallsarlon Glacier Lagoon, unlike Jokulsarlon there is no escape for the glacier waters hence the murky waters. This shot was taken well out of my depth, we both had waders on but I had 'Ice Hopped' the bergs to make it to this composition facing the part of the Vatnajokull Glacier. This composition does not do the Glacier justice with the peaks in front of me being 5000ft above sea level. . . .
