The Heart of Santorini by EliaLocardi Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
When people talk about the Greek Island of Santorini, they often say that it’s one of the most beautiful places in the world. In my opinion, all of the positive things people say about this Aegean paradise are one hundred percent true. From the scenery, to the food and wine, to the wonderful attitudes of both the residents and visitors, Oia is simply spectacular from every angle. If you're interested in my work, feel free to drop me a line on Instagram or my website EliaLocardi.com.

The Eye of The Tempest by GaryRandall Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
The eye of the tempest. This was the lodge that Darlene and I were privileged to have been able to stay in while we visited the Warm Springs Indian Reservation in Central Oregon, thanks to my friends Vicky and Charles Littleleaf. When we arrived to erect the lodge the sun was out and the occasional cloud was a welcomed break from the sunshine. Once the lodge was finished the clouds thickened and a storm of epic proportions moved in on us. Wind, rain and one inch diameter hail fell all while bolts of lightning struck in the hills surrounding us. At one point the lightning was directly overhead but didn't strike the ground around us. The storm itself lasted well into the night time allowing us the opportunity to photograph it fairly easily. I heard that there were from 1500 to 1700 lighting strikes that night in Warm Springs alone. With the dry weather this could have been disastrous as the fire situation in Central Oregon has been perilous. The good news was that it poured rain. I mean it poured! Of the precipitation I enjoyed the hail the most. I had never seen hail so large. It was easily 1" in diameter. I was caught in it at one point and I can attest to the fact that when a 1" hail stone hits the top of your head it hurts. lol Later in the day Darlene and I hid inside of the tipi and had some snacks while the storm raged until we realized that the rain had stopped and it was completely quiet outside. Darkness had come while we were dodging the weather and so we didn't realize that the weather had changed in almost an instant. When we peaked our heads outside the lodge door all we saw as a blanket of amazing stars with the Milky Way stretching over the top of us like a crystal archway. Darlene and I were able to get a couple pretty nice shots of the stars before the clouds moved back in on us signalling to us that it was time for sleep. What an incredible experience. Vicky felt bad that the weather "ruined" our stay, but I tried to explain just how special it was that it happened. I always look for high adventure but never realized that it would find me on this particular day. I tried my best to explain to them just how special the storm was to me. Charles realized it though. He told Vicky that we were lucky to have experienced it. I love my life and love the people that are a part of it these days. Thank you Vicky and Charles. This is a single exposure of two lighting strikes.
Eddystone Lighthouse by AndrewLosurdo Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
Eddystone Lighthouse can be found in the Bay of Fires on the mid north coast of Tasmania. This was the first sunrise of our trip to Tassie, it did turn it on (to a degree), i cant really complain. Scrambling over the rocks in the dark and watching our for seals was a highlight! I would do it all over. Thanks for checking this shot out. If you like, feel free to FAV/SHARE/FOLLOW.

The Challenge by jeffclow Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
© Jeff R. Clow One of the things that I hear - a lot unfortunately - is people who walk by me when I'm shooting and say things like "if I had the gear he has, I could get some great photos". It is mildly irritating and I seldom acknowledge the comment. It is the equivalent of complimenting a chef on their equipment as opposed to appreciating what they do with their equipment. Nevertheless, as proof that it is not the expensive camera nor the lens that crafts a good photo - I challenged myself recently at Schwabacher Landing to take just my iPhone 5s with me. Not one person complimented me on my camera nor mentioned my lens. I think I even heard a couple of people snicker as I walked by.... What you see here is a handheld shot taken with a cell phone.

Jackin' by alexnoriega Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
Oregon's Three Fingered Jack, under dramatic sunset skies. It's been far too long since I've shot or posted any images of my favorite subject, mountains. Got out for my first backpacking trip of the summer with Erin and Kibby. Based on last year's evidence, we figured the flowers would be poppin' - but it turned out to be far too early for them here. Thus, I settled on this pulled-back composition of a stream, which was nicely reflecting the late (and brief) explosion of sky color. If you like the way my images look, you may be interested in knowing that I teach my post-processing workflow online via Skype! I also have a workshop coming up with Alex Mody in Olympic National Park this September, which has a few remaining spots. Check out my website for more information: http://ift.tt/YdCotQ

• A HARD WALK • by ramonalayan Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
Location : Tasman Lake, Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, New Zealand So far the most challenging shoot we have done. Imagine getting down a cliff 6-storey high on your ass (literally) because even heavy duty snow boots could not handle slippery ice covered rocks. But it was all worth the danger for what waited for us down there was a view so surreal to describe. Lavender Tree by PaulBruins Add me http://ift.tt/1fqSViy
There are literally thousands of fields of flowering lavender in Provence in July! But they all look very similar... and when you've photographed one field... you've pretty much photographed them all... or have you!? I desperately wanted to find a single tree growing in the middle of a sloping field with an interesting sky behind it. After searching every side road for more than a week... I finally found my "perfect" subject on the last day of my trip!

View on black! Here is a new vertical panorama from Mt Laguna CA, the fallen trees out in the meadow made for some really nice foreground. The light on the horizon is from San Diego, about 1.5 hours from the meadow. I encourage anyone in San Diego who is interested in viewing the night sky to check out the area. Its an awesome place to stargaze not too far from the city. Thanks for checking it out guys!
