Schwabacher Landing Sunrise by tchebotarev Add me http://ift.tt/1lNlcrl

A famous Schwabacher Landing at Grand Teton National Park at sunrise. At about 6am there are 10 photographers setting up in pitch dark to shoot some night skies. At 6:30am, there are 30 photographers with tripods all along the bank of the river. At 7:00am, 20 minutes before sunrise, there are over 50 photographers, all with tripods, clicking the shutter and changing the ND filters on their cameras.
Mercantour National Park, France by EuropeTrotter Add me http://ift.tt/1lNlcrl

In dedicace to Herve Gourdel (french hostage dead in Algeria) who have created the office of mountain guides at St Martin Vésubie, Mercantour National park. Mercantour National Park - France Since it was created in 1979, the Mercantour Park has become one of the most popular of the seven French national parks. The protected area covers some 685 square kilometres, consisting of a central uninhabited zone comprising seven valleys - Roya, Bévéra, Vésubie, Tinée, Haut Var/Cians plus Verdon and Ubaye (in the Alpes de Haute Provence) - and a peripheral zone comprising 28 villages. Many of them are perched villages, concealing great architectural riches (numerous churches decorated with murals and altar pieces by primitive Niçois painters). Dominating the scene is Cougourde (2921m) with its impressive rock faces attracting many climbers.

Mission Glaciers by sysaworld Add me http://ift.tt/1lNlcrl

My new mission is to tell with photographs the hidden life of mountain glaciers. This is my first shot to show you its slow but relentless movement toward a sad fate. Its a very dangerous situation and in those moments you can understand why we are so slight in relation to the mother nature.
