The fantastic Proxy Falls in Oregon. The falls drop 226 feet to the creek. It was a tough day to keep water off the lens even with help due to the combination of rain and spray. I posted this a couple of weeks ago but wasn't happy with the processing. Sorry for the duplication.

Norway - Lofoten - Utakleiv 4:45 AM - Sonnenaufgang am Utakleiv Beach Als wir am 3.5. 2013 Nachts um kurz vor 4 Uhr an der Utakleiv Bucht eintrafen wollten wir fast schon wieder aufbrechen um zum Hotel zurückzukehren, denn das Licht war aufgrund der Wolkendecke kaum zu erwarten. Mit der Hoffnung auf Besserung entschieden wir uns dennoch zu bleiben und uns beglückte dieser wunderschöne Sonnenaufgang um 4:45uhr. I can't really tell you what it's like to be alone in the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest at midnight, you would have to experience it for yourself. Those of you fellow photogs that have been there done that solo, sure do know why i would rather go alone then hear other voices. It feels awesome to watch all the cars leave down the hill after lights out and have the entire forest and the heavens to myself.

I think I need to add this to my portfolio of lava shots. This is probably the biggest lava flow experience for me being this close. A huge lava flow entering a tube system while another diverts over the surface. With no experience back then in shooting, it took us almost 8 hours to reach the flow and dehydrated with nothing on hand to drink. Lighting was harsh at 12 noon but the experience was well worth the shots and the lesson learned of almost dying. Took us 14 hours round trip and half of the time was not pleasant at all. After passing out and vomiting a few times we finally made it out. My lesson???? Stayed hydrated with enough liquids since. Ps. If the image looks soft, its the heat causing thermal distortion from the surface flow. Aloha

I was fortunate to get some nice light and clouds on this morning from a couple weeks ago. Three other sunsets or sunrises teased me but didn't deliver, but this area of undulating sandstone on the Colorado Plateau is fascinating to explore with or without the golden light. For this image I blended two exposures (f/13) for the fore- and mid-ground, and another for the sky. Thanks for looking!

Evening shot of Skógafoss taken around 22:00. Skógafoss is a waterfall situated on the Skógá River in the south of Iceland at the cliffs of the former coastline.
