October's Embrace by candacebartlett Add me http://ift.tt/1lNlcrl

I have a bit of an obsession with Autumn. I'm particularly fond of October, when foliage really starts to put on its vibrant show. One of my favorite places to explore in October is Washington State's Eastern Cascade Foothills. This image is from a couple of years ago when the colors were at their peak near the Leavenworth area. I decided to be adventurous that day and take an unknown long, rough dirt road about 10 miles down until I came across this scene. The sound of a nearby stream was so serene. The trees were so vibrant and beautiful I had to just sit there in my car and stare out the window for a while. I hadn't seen Fall color like that since I was a teenager living in Ohio. It was really quite striking and reminded me of a painting. I longed to have the skill or materials to paint the view in front of me, but decided to do what I thought to be the second best option and took out my camera. This place to me defines October's lovely, cool, vibrant embrace and everything I love about it. A portrait version of an image I shared from the same area last year. This version includes more of the sky and places focus more on the taller golden tree. Prints available at: candacebartlettphotography.com
