Wheat crops near Kanmantoo (I'm not sure where I ended up after a night of driving and from the coast inland). This was after a week of stress at work where the source of stress was neither work nor anything to do with why I signed up for work. It was to do with dealing with a generation Y attitude of entitlement. Well, after dealing with that I felt entitled to an overnight photographic shoot that weekend, but knowing that my kids had an entitlement to see daddy, I still returned in the morning and tried to entertain the kids and Marianne during the day. The price was my fatigue and a sleep debt. There is a trade off. So here's my message. With entitlement to a position whether it be professional or as a family figure, also comes rights and responsibilities. If you want the rights, then for goodness sake, try to be responsible too ! Too many people in my profession are now claiming rights without wanting to be responsible to their 'clients' or institution. Why did they ever sign up to be in a hard working profession? Perhaps we are training people to lie better in their entrance interviews. Rant over!
