“Alien Snow Chamber” © Raza Ali Durrani Follow me on Facebook ///Best viewed on black/// I guess sometimes certain landscapes end up becoming more unique, beautiful and surreal when its the most dangerous time to shoot them. What you see here is a snow cave high up near Mount Rainier in the state of Washington. It was the first time I had ever been inside a snow cave. As soon as I entered the cave, it seemed like I was transported into an Alien spaceship from a sci-fi movie. Being inside like this was extremely dangerous since the cave was about to collapse any minute because of the thin ceiling. That’s why I had to take the picture and get out of there as fast as I could. The mist that had been present for the past few days helped in creating the light glow from the openings and I was fortunate to capture the textures on the thin ceiling. A big thanks to Louis Ouimet for letting me use his backup 5D Mark II, Marc Adamus for showing me this location and Alex Noriega for guiding me with the processing.
