Protected from the famous Drei Zinnen, a little cross remembers at WWI hero Sepp Innerkofler. Altough Sepp was fighting for Austria in order to defend the South Tyrolean border against Italy, he put his weapons down to rescue a Italian soldier from the face of the big peak (Große Zinne). Later he died of falling down a cliff, first hit by a rock thrown by the exact same soldier he rescued shortly before.
