The iconic Moraine Lake in Banff National Park, 4:00am strap on the Pezel, grab the gear, start the hike up the rock pile, read grizzly bear warning sign, forgot bear spray in truck (shit!) walk faster... 4:20 arive at the top of the rock pile, still dark, sky is getting lighter by the minute, looks to be a glorious day, 5:00am scout location on the rock pile, take a few selfies, all alone just me and the mountains, but not for long, 5:30, bright enough to shut off the headlamp, 6:00am first late risers start to arrive, I've got the perfect spot and I'm not moving, couple more selfies, then 6:29am Alpen Glow!
